Christmas Time!!!

Once again we had a very good Christmas. We had to spread out the opening of presents over three days. As you can see we had quite the present pile at Grandma and Grandpa Schlies'.

Kennedie was a bit overwhelmed trying to find her presents in the pile.

Kennedie started gymnastics a few weeks ago. She loves it. She doesn't seem as timid as Kyler was when she first started.

Halloween Trick-or-Treating!!

We went to Gigi's to meet Travis and Kim for pictures and hit a few houses for trick-or-treating before going to Gayla's and meeting Chad's family to go for more trick-or-treating with Grandma and Grandpa. Note Kennedie is missing in the pictures with Travis' kids. Travis being dressed up like he was, scared Kennedie to death, and she did nothing but cry, so we didn't take pictures of that! The kids wore out pretty quickly...it was a long day!!

Kyler's School Party

Kyler had 12 minutes to get off of the bus from her field trip and change into her costume before she had to be in the costume parade throughout her school....busy, busy day!  She made a bat for her craft, made her own trail mix, had some punch with eye balls and teeth floating in it, and played pin the wart on the witch.  She was all sugar filled by the end of the party.

Kyler Field Trip

Kyler's field trip got rescheduled to Halloween day.  We went to the Klausmeyer dairy farm and pumpkin patch in Clearwater.  They got to see where milk comes from, feed Heifers, take a hayrack ride, pick out a pumpkin, feed a baby cow milk, and have a picnic lunch.  It was a fun-filled day.  Chad and I were both lucky enough to get to go with her and enjoy it, too.

Night of the Living Zoo

Sunday the 26th we went with Chad's family to the zoo like we do every year for the kids to play games and get candy.  It was very, very cold.  The kids had fun despite the weather.

Paige's 6th Birthday Party

Kyler had a gymnastics party to go to last Saturday.  She had fun playing with Callen, Kinley and Paige.  She had a Hannah Montanna guitar cupcake shaped cake.  

Church in the Park

Every year we have church at Haysville's fall fesival called church in the park.  The kids really just wanted to eat and play on the equipment.  We were blessed with good warm weather!

Maize Fall Festval

October 11th was the Maize fall festival. We met Mamaw, Papa and Kinley at the parade. Kennedie didn't have a bag to put her candy in so she loaded her pockets with her loot. She was funny in that she had not been to a parade before and didn't get why people didn't just put candy in her hand instead they were throwing it on the ground. At one point she threw down her hands and made a disgusted grunting sound. It was hilarious!!Later we met Callen, Travis and Kim at the carnival. Kyler was disappointed she didn't get to ride some of the rides because she was not tall enough.....maybe next year....

Daddy & Kyler 1st overnight camping trip...

Kyler had a blast setting up the campsite. She set up all the food and chairs and then made the beds in the tent. It was a little chilly but we still had fun.

We cooked hot dogs and made smores. Daddy forgot to bring paper towels or wipes... big mistake.

Finally potty trained!!

Mommy and I have changed many a panties and pants in the last week or so but it's looks like it has finally happened. NO MORE DIAPERS..... EVER!!! We have trained our last.

little set back...

Everything was going well until I went to physical therapy today. Not sure exactly what happened but a vessel must have burst which caused a bit of swelling. I am using crutches for the first time in my life. Not a good time...

Hangin around....

Kyler has been off school since Wed. for teacher conferences so we had to hit the parks for some monkey bar practice. She is pretty good. Her teacher said that Kyler and a bunch of the other kids just swing across them all recess.

Kennedie always has to take it one step further. Don't worry she came out of this alright.... and then did it again and again and again.

Kyler wanted to see if I could still do them. It's harder than it used to be.

little down time...

I finally went in to get my knee worked on. They cut it Monday and I was able to mow the yard Wednesday. I hope the whole recovery keeps going this fast. Not too much pain so far. I had my first session of physical therapy today which wasn't too bad. It's a little stiff but other than that not too bad. Shawna said I should be able to make the next race Nov 15th if I keep pushing it. haha!

Kyler cheered at the Maize High Eagles football game against Hutch this last Friday night. She has a ball... I think she is going to take after mommy.
