The pool.

Our hotel has a Shark Reef aquarium in it. It was pretty cool. Shawna got to pet a stingray.

The fish were pretty hard to take pictures of due to the glass but here is one of the sharks.

Shawna and Krista found Hugh Hefner and decided to hang out for a while.

We stayed at Mandalay Bay and they have one of the nicest pools in Las Vegas. They have a white sand beach and a 1.6 million gallon wave pool with a lazy river. We were out laying in the sun in the afternoons.

One of the many fountains in the hotel. I think we have pictures in front of all of them.

Shawna and I hanging out in the sun.
Yes... that is a $14.00 drink in my hand. I didn't get a picture of the $20.00 drink.

Las Vegas Trip

Shawna and I went to Las Vegas for our 8th wedding anniversary last week with our friends Krista and Scott Hollinger.

Krista and Scott posing at our hotel after the show Mystere.

Here we are getting our photo op before the show starts. It was a very good show.

This is the car we rented to cruise around in. We had enough of the smelly cabs last year.

Kyler started Upward Soccer with our church this year. Grandpa is the coach and her cousin Katherine is on her team too. They are called the Chicklettes. She scored two goals during there first scrimmage. She was pretty excited.

They have a devotion and prayer time during every practice.

Coach Grandpa giving instructions.

Kennedie is getting a little practice of her own.

Shawna and I at the Delicate Arches. It was about a one mile hike up to the arches but the view was awesome.

Shawna and I standing under the Arches.

This is the house we stayed in. It was very nice. It had 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms and a den with pullout couch.

This is Greg Martens and Chris. Greg is part of Doo-Dah also but ran this race as a solo. He finished about an hour or so ahead of us.

Greg and his kayak getting ready for the race.

Little Paige is Todd and Lisa's 9 month old daughter. She was excellent the whole trip despite being locked in a car seat for 1900 miles.
Here she is trying out Greg's kayak. I think I see a future adventure racer.

I got to do 12 hour adventure race in Moab, Utah this last weekend. I raced with team Doo-Dah which is (from left to right) Lisa Goetz, Jay Tully, me and Troy Thissen. We had an awesome support crew of Shawna, Chris White, Todd Goetz and Paige. We finished in around 11 hours and 30 minutes. The bike leg of the race was rather tough and seemed to be all uphill. We covered around 60 miles or so between biking, kayaking and trekking. Tough race but it was a blast!!

Here we are on the last mile of the race.

Troy and I headed out for the paddle.
